My Priorities as Mayor

Leading Pleasant Grove Forward

Each of these priorities builds on over a decade of hands-on experience serving Pleasant Grove, from council chambers to community projects. I know what works, what needs improvement, and how to get things done.

Roads and Infrastructure That Keep Pleasant Grove Moving

Over the past two years alone, Pleasant Grove has invested over $30 million into road improvements, resurfacing or rebuilding more than 200 roadway sections. These upgrades also include better communication systems, water quality improvements like chlorination, and pipe replacements.

This work is not just about catching up; it’s about building a reliable foundation for the future of Pleasant Grove.

Public Safety You Can Count On

Public safety has always been one of my top priorities. Throughout my time on the Council, I’ve supported funding for police, fire, and EMS, including improving facilities, updating equipment, and making sure our teams are competitively paid.

Working directly with our public safety departments, we’ve strengthened emergency response, expanded community outreach, and kept Pleasant Grove prepared as we grow.

Quality of Life That Serves Families

Pleasant Grove is one of the most desirable places in Utah to raise a family. I want to keep it that way.

That means investing in parks, trails, recreation, and meaningful community programs. We’ve already made major upgrades like:

  • Rebuilding Discovery (Re-Discovery) Park

  • Rebuilding Downtown Park

  • Expanding the Valley Vista Trail System

  • Adding pickleball courts and a pavilion at Veterans Park

  • Rebuilding tennis and pickleball courts at Discovery Park

  • Opening Cook Family Park, a 25-acre park with a splash pad, skate park, pump track, futsal courts, basketball, an all abilities playground, soccer fields, and more

These improvements strengthen our neighborhoods and reflect a long-term commitment to making Pleasant Grove a place people are proud to call home.

Strong communities depend on strong communication.

Communication, Transparency, and Trust

I believe the best local government is one that communicates clearly and often. I’ve built a reputation for being available, prepared, and honest. I’ll carry that same approach into the Mayor’s office.

That means listening to residents, using our city communication tools more effectively, and making sure you always know what’s happening in Pleasant Grove and how to get involved.

Economic Growth and a Thriving Business Community

Pleasant Grove has become a hub for new businesses, job creation, and long-term investment. That growth is something I’ve been proud to champion, both on the Council and as President of the Pleasant Grove–Lindon Chamber of Commerce.

We’ve welcomed dozens of businesses in recent years, including:

Chipotle
First Watch
Panera Bread
Wingstop
The Ruth & Nathan Hale Theater
, a top-tier performing arts destination now entertaining local families
Kneaders
Megaplex Theater
The Great Greek
Burger King
Dutch Bros
Soda Time
Twisted Sugar
Flow Haus
Tagg-N-Go Carwash
Thirst
Crumbl
Parlor Doughnuts
Massage Luxe
Rancheritos
Tabitha's Way (Local Food Pantry)
Tesla
Milkshake Factory
Goldwest Credit Union
Wayback Burgers

Each of these additions helps expand our sales tax base and proves that Pleasant Grove is open for business.

That growth sets the stage for what’s next.

A Look at What’s Ahead

We’re just getting started. New developments and exciting projects are already underway, with more coming every day, including:

  • Dragonsteel Entertainment Venue and Bookstore

  • Alexis Retail Plaza (Thirst, Parlor Doughnuts, Crumbl and more to come)

  • Tru by Hilton and Home2Suites hotel

  • Chick-fil-A (under construction)

  • More in the works & being announced soon…

These additions not only diversify our local economy, they prove that Pleasant Grove is a destination where businesses want to be.

Fiscal Responsibility and Efficient Government

I believe in making every tax dollar count. That means long-term budgeting, transparent spending, and ensuring city resources are managed efficiently and responsibly.

Youth and Community Engagement

Our youth programs and community events help build connection and pride in Pleasant Grove. I’ll continue supporting initiatives like PG Cares, Choose Kindness, and youth councils that give students a voice and strengthen community ties.

The Mayor’s Role: Present, Accountable, and Engaged

The Mayor doesn’t just attend events or cut ribbons. It’s a hands-on leadership role that requires presence, communication, and coordination at every level.

As Mayor, I’ll:

  • Attend city department meetings regularly to stay aligned with frontline services

  • Represent Pleasant Grove at regional planning tables (MAG, COG, ULCT, State and others)

  • Stay involved with interlocal school committees and youth-focused initiatives like PG Cares and Choose Kindness

  • Partner with Council Members, city staff, developers, landowners and residents to move projects forward

The work has already started. I’ve been doing it for over a decade. We’ll continue building on the strong partnerships that make Pleasant Grove thrive. I’m ready to keep leading with purpose, transparency, and a deep commitment to the future of Pleasant Grove.

Together, we can keep Pleasant Grove moving forward.
